Yesterday was a day off in Austin, TX... The previous day we drove 14 hours to get here so it was time for a beer. We checked out the Draught House. A very nice selection and cool atmosphere, but there wasn't too many good things to say about the staff that was working the bar that night. All they have to do is serve people beer so they should be happy, but they must've been having a bad day (or something?) Regardless of the bartender's attitudes, we still had an enjoyable experience.
The photo above is Paul enjoying a lovely pint of IPA from the (512) Brewing Company here in Austin. A very nice hoppy IPA with a good malt balance... Not at all what I would've expected from a Texas beer, but I was pleasantly surprised.
It was a fine day in Austin! Maria's tacos, delicious brews and good company.
